  • My Take on the Iceman

Bad cell phone pic and that is NOT a split where the neck tenon pocket will go. It's a pencil line to line up my home-made MDF template.

24.5" scale - mahogany neck with bocote fretboard (I have yet to build this)

1.25" one-piece korina, with 5/8" flame maple top (carving to commence tonight)

It will get a Bill Lawrence L-495 and L-200 and a Gold Kahler Hybrid
It is about 3/4" scale. 11.25" wide at the widest point and 17" long from the butt-point to the lower cut away.

I'm loving it. Color will be a transparent light blue.

Rough carving and pencil line was permanently etched by the seeping glue. Oh well, it gets routed out for the neck

Sure, I actually have the wood and enough supplies - PM me. Flame maple on black limba.

We can discuss budget, bridge, etc.

Be aware that the control cavity is small - no five control configurations, etc.

BTW, I got a good start on my neck.

I clamped the neck to the body. This guitar balances pretty well.

It's actuallu a pretty light guitar with good fret access to the 21st fret. That should get better as a shave the body sides into the neck.

Frets installed and Kahler just set in for looks.

I'll mount the Kahler and glue in the neck tonight.

Just a little clean up buffing at the neck transition and in the pick up cavities. This is straight from the painter not buffed up for photos.

In person it looks so much better.
