  • My first bass!!!

    you guys are going to love this

    i really stuck it to the man this time

    don't you guys love how 90% of basses have this tiny lower cutaway that makes playing upside down impossible?

    before:

    after:

    it came with everything but electronics, now it's got a mexican standard jazz bass pickup in the bridge and an on/off switch from an r/c car

    i drilled two bolts into the cutaway, cut the heads off the bolts, then drilled two holes into the body, then i shoved epoxy with fiberglass filler all over the gap and inside the holes and crammed the cutaway in

    you wouldn't believe how good this thing sounds!

                Sand that sucker down , fill the voids and throw some paint on . I want to see the end result . I love it when people think outside of the box .

                  i got this thing for free guys

                  the only thing i paid for was the pickup, the bolts, and the epoxy

                  i plan on making it look more legit at some point, but not soon

                  i still have to finish my king v project

                  then a guy is selling me a mint lefty gibson sg standard in crimson for 600 bucks, and i'm going to throw an ebony fretboard on it along with black hardware and new pickups

                  i did this for function and neccessity

                    free = destroy at will

                    500.00 = be careful you don't scratch the paint changing the pickups pots and bridge

                    3000.00 = don't fuck with it.

                    that was a great idea and if it works --hell ya I would do it also

                    p.s. a lot of the basses I play are flipped righty basses inverted strings and yep, the only body that I can actually hit the 15th or so and up fret is my tbird without leaning over the neck with my arm ( and that seldom occurs so it never bothered me in 25 years ) --

                    cool thing about doing that is the knobs and switches are closer so you don't have to reach over the strings, and the bass brands I like have the switches and knobs in such a position I don't even know they are there.

                      lol

                      when i palm mute or pick close to the bridge it screws everything up as far as the knobs go

                      thats why i took an on/off switch off an r/c car and used it as a killswitch here
