It is soooo difficult to tell from the tiny photos on CL. It doesn't look to bad, but you should call him and get some decent photos sent to you.
Especially the back of the headstock for the serial number/construction and the fretboard to see if the binding covers the fret edges. This is the one area the fakes do a terrible job.
As for the ebony fretboard, to me it doesn't look ebony, but then again it could be the photos. Plus, if it is a Standard, it would not have a ebony fretboard. The Custom's have ebony.
It is a very pretty guitar though, and I'm curious to what they would take in a cash deal?????
PS: As I look at the photo of the headstock, it looks a little off, but that could be the angle of the shot. Also, you should ask for a photo of the headstock with the TRC removed. Another area the fakers haven't perfected yet.
I'm not looking at it, I just found it interesting he said you wont find the color anywhere ... humm
Investigator crawdaddy ?
maybe only in China????
I looked at the ad once again and the color tipped off a wavelength in my head. I remembered "Santa Fe Sunrise" and "Pacific Reef".. duh!! I knew there was something about LE
It is real and now I'm really really really wondering what he looking for cash wise... I'll have to call him and see if he'll take one of my strats and one of my sons. That sounds fair to me.

You love that guitar this much you'd give the guy one of your sons for it?
I have one son in College and another son that is a junior in HS so he'll be in college in another year. I think I would win on that deal. Which ever son he wants could always visit us... now that I think about though, my wife might not be too thrilled.
Plus, I'm starting to run out of money. I just picked up another strat, should be here next week.
