  • 60's Hagstrom Viking

Back in 1977 I bought my first electric guitar. It was a used left handed Hagstrom Viking. It was the only left handed Viking I had ever seen. The headstock looked like a Fender, and the hollowbody was shaped like a 335. Anyway, I kept it for about 20 years and then traded it away. About 10 years have gone by, and now that I realize the errors of my ways, I'd like to buy it back. The guitar really didn't play all that well, so it's really only for sentimental reasons I'd like to buy it back. I'll try to attach a picture if I can find one.

Anyways, if you know of one, please drop me a line.

    Thanks,

    LeftyRuss

Yours might have been a Viking 2.

      Viking II? Thanks.

Yes, it looked like Elvis', except mine had dot markers instead of block-inlay. And, it had an antique/tobacco burst type finish. I'm still trying to find an old picture.

      Thanks again for the info.

Yeah. The most telling feature that distinguishes the old guitars from the new is the headstock. My old Hagstrom had a six-inline (Fender type) headstock. The new(er) guitars have the 3+3. Thanks for looking.

by the way, I checked out your website. I was admiring your bevy of beauties. That's quite the collection of instruments! Very nice!

          Take care,

Thanks. I only have about 1/2 of my guitars on my site. Over the summer, I plan to update with all the guitars I have.
