I found out about that guitar I think about 6-7 months ago. I think he quoted me $3500 for it at that time. Killer looking guitar, and a maple neck for a LP is still pretty rare. I just could not justify the money for it at that time, or even right now. I almost won a mint 1978 LP CherryBurst for I think $2100 +/-. Even if I had the $$$$ right now, I think I'd pass on this one. I'm getting some good deals on the stuff that was going for over $1 now for about $600. So I'll just stockpile on these and when things turn around, I will have set myself up nice. I just picked up a 1983 Fender Elite and a 1989 Kramer Baretta 2. A couple of weeks before that I got that 1996 Jackson KE1. All at a great price.

It's a pretty guitar, but the seller is completely out of his mind for pricing.

He seems to think that every '70s LP in his shop is worth $4000 or more - even beat up mid-'70s Deluxes . I have two Deluxes that I bought in the past year (not from this seller, though); one (a nearly mint 1974 CSB) was $2400 and the other (a 1977 "player") for $1400, so this guy's prices are way out of whack.

        Here's a 1976 factory second for $4000:

        And a beat-up 1974 goldtop - that isn't really rare - for $5000:

Problem is, eventually, some poor schmuck who doesn't know better will buy them.
