Honestly I'd pay $1600 if it had an OFR, SS frets, a choice top, and didn't have the stupid gaudy inlays.

So you'd buy it if it were completely different, essentially?

For that price point it should be a higher quality build.

Schecter tried pulling the "let's put a ton of inlays on this guitar to justify the price" 15 years ago and I think the schtick is up.

Hmm I never thought they may be doing the inlays to justify the price. I always thought it was just an edgy A7X thing.

Back then people didn't take Korean guitars seriously so they tried to do whatever cheap thing they could that other brands didn't on production models in order to attract buyers. They came stock with a decent top, quality hardware and electronics, and then fancy inlays. An equivalent Fender, Jackson, Ibanez, or Epiphone didn't have any of those things for that price.

I’ll never got over how badly this company is run and how tone deaf they are to the market

That's what happens when older people with money can't pull their heads out of their asses because they surround themselves with brown-nosers.
