I'm not interested in a JEM or RG.

Chris Mai is a good guy. I traded a neck with him years back. I've seen his work too, and it is very, very good. He was slightly less responsive to messages than I'd have liked, but I had no real complaints dealing with him. His work is seriously excellent. Do you guys remember that swirled neck I had on my RG550 for a while? That was him.

I was in contact with Mai a few months ago, when I was looking for a body to be built for my 7 string neck. He was polite and definitely wanted to help, but it would have been a pretty odd job with a different neck pocket dimension, and in the end I decided I wanted to go with a non Ibanez body anyway. He offered to try a custom body for me if I sent him a Cad drawing of what I wanted, I was tempted and appreciated the offer but decided to pass, it just kind of felt like an alien approach for both of us and I wanted to feel totally confident.

His swirl finishes do look awesome. If I ever get a swirl done I'll probably send it to him.

As far as I know he is one of the last guy doing swirls any longer.

I contacted Nate one more time, and he actually responded today. He said "Due to a programming backlog, he will not be accepting any lefty orders at this time, and he apologizes for the inconvenience"

Ok, so thats defintiely a no go...
I havent gotten any pm's from any of you guys who still may be interested, so please let me know, so I can get a rough number, so when I email Chris Mai, Ill have a number to give him.

Bummer. I'd be in for one of Mai's bodies depending on what options he has.

He emailed me last night and said that he is basically just doing variations of RG and JEM bodies, however that may change in the future because he heard that Nate wants to quit, so he is looking into buying his programs, so that would open up the flood gates for sure.
I guess if Chris is already willing to do lefty RG and JEM bodies, then I guess we all dont need to band together like we had to with Nate, so I guess that we can just contact him individually with our wants.
